Several new techniques and insights can help you to align your organization to these new challenges.
This 6-day program brings together a selection of absolute experts in the relevant domains to assist you and your organization in this journey, both from a strategy & operational approach as from a people's point of view.
If so desired, you will be coached on your own case during the class and we will provide one follow-up remote coaching session of 1 hour per participant.
As part of this program, you become part of a community to exchange experiences on how to handlle your change process.
Content
MODULE 1: Launching the ship
STRATEGY. Jamie Anderson explores the different levers for boosting innovation in your firm. He explores how the implementation of better sensing mechanisms can prepare you for launching successful innovations more often and with less risk. He draws on examples from the creative industries, as well as established firms.
INCUBATION. Carla Koen looks at the different models for open innovation, including different approaches to venturing; allowing to kick-start new innovative directions for your team. Rudi Broos (Alcatel-Lucent) elaborates on his company’s approach, showing how early involvement of stakeholders improves the chance for a fit with company strategy.
EXECUTION. Carla further links all concepts together and looks at different industry implementations. In a connected world, the importance of new innovation tactics such as the changed use of IPR, spin-offs and licensing is increasing. Then, Katja van der Wal (Philips) brings a testimonial on approaches to organizing for innovation.
MODULE 2: Getting everyone on board
CHANGE. Sofie Rogiest explores how an open, connected business environment requires a more bottom-up approach for new solutions. This approach to change management will be used throughout the rest of the module. Peter Hinssen explores the new digital society and how it impacts the approach to introducing innovations into the market.
TALENT & ORGANIZATION. Jan De Keyser helps us to discover our strengths. Leveraging talents within teams will lead to better team performance. Further on, “natural” resistance to innovations can often be overcome by selecting an appropriate organizational approach.
COLLABORATION & CREATIVITY. Joerg Reckhenrich gives insight into how to boost creativity, interaction and knowledge sharing within companies. Optimal innovation comes from gathering and connecting diverse creative talents, and creating an environment for collaboration.
The entire programme is based on the innovation life cycle. Simple in theory, it is one of the basic tools to start from when looking to upgrade your organization.

Following people guide you in this captivating journey:
Jamie Anderson is Adjunct Professor of Strategy and Innovation Management at Antwerp Management School, and visiting lecturer at London Business School. Originally from Australia, he teaches to leading companies from around the world.
He is a widely published author on innovation and creativity management. His articles have appeared in publications such as MIT Sloan Management review, the European Journal of Innovation Management, Journal of Business Strategy, Business Strategy Review, International Journal of Innovation & Technology Management and the Financial Times Handbook of Management. He has been a columnist for The Times of London and has appeared as a business commentator on the BBC, CNBC and CNN. Jamie is a best selling ase study writer and directs a series of case writing workshops at the European Case Clearing House.
He is commonly recognized as one of Europe’s top 25 management thinkers and is co-author of the book 'The fine art of success'.
Prof. Carla Koen is director of the European Institute for Business Innovation and Entrepreneurship (EIBIE). She heads up the innovation activities at TiasNimbas Business School and is involved in many of the innovation projects in the Dutch industry.
She obtained a PhD and Master in International Political Economy from the University of Warwick (UK). Her PhD and Master studies focus on innovation in the German and Japanese pharmaceutical industry. She was a Visiting Research Fellow at the Max-Planck-Institut fuer Geselschaftsforschung (Cologne), Sophia University (Tokyo), and the Wissenschaftszentrum fuer Sozialforschung (Berlin).
Carla Koen’s expertise lies in technology management and in comparative international organization and management. She is author of a book and of several national and international publications in journals such as Organization Studies, Current Topics in Management, Management Executive, Research in International Business and Finance, etc.
Rudi Broos is Innovation Officer at Alcatel-Lucent Bell. Before that, he built a career in defining and marketing innovative Telecommunication solutions at Alcatel-Lucent. As Innovation Officer, his goal is to position Alcatel-Lucent at the fore-front of innovation in Telecom services. Among others, he was responsible for the definition and organization of the global Alcatel-Lucent bootcamp. Alcatel-Lucent is traditionally the front-runner in Flanders in the definition and implementation of innovation processes. They also house the largest industrial research & innovation group in Flanders. Within the program, he brings a testimonial of how Alcatel-Lucent fosters innovation within the company and reflects back on the program content.
Katja van der Wal is driving the Open Innovation program at Philips Consumer Lifestyle. Before that, Katja has held several positions in Consumer Marketing Management at the headquarters of Philips. Amongst others, 5 year experience as Director Consumer Marketing Management for Senseo, a partnership between Philips and SaraLee/DouweEgberts. She has joined Philips 18 years ago, starting in production engineering at Philips Semiconductors, thereby gaining significant experience in production and development of 24/7 mass production management for automotive industry. Katja holds a masters degree in Aerospace Engineering from Technical University Delft in The Netherlands.
Sofie Rogiest is doctorandus at Antwerp University. As a management consultant, she guided many companies in both service and production domains in delivering organizational change.
Peter Hinssen is one of Europe’s most sought-after thought leaders on the impact of technology on society and business. Peter is CEO of Across Technology and was founder and CEO of several successful companies, which he sold to other companies like Alcatel-Lucent, Belgacom and Descartes. He is a keynote speaker at leading international events like Sibos, the IT leader forum, CA Expo and many others. He is author of 2 books: 'Business/IT fusion' and 'The New Normal'.
Jan De Keyser is a leading independant HR-consultant. He consults companies like Alcatel-Lucent, Swift, Vandemoortele and Barco and is an expert in strength-based development.
Jörg Reckhenrich is artist and Adjunct Professor of Innovation and Creativity at the Lorange Institute, Switzerland. He is also visiting lecturer at London Business School, IMD and ESMT Berlin. His research focusses on fostering creativity in large corporations. He is co-author of the book 'The fine art of success'.
