CxO Forum on IT editie 2011-2012

CxO Forum on IT – Your discussion platform to interact with peers from business and IT 
Enter the discussion on recent and relevant business and IT topics within the unique Antwerp Management School setting. Interact with peers to understand their problems and to encounter the difficulties they are facing today and tomorrow. Above all, translate interesting and profitable ideas to your organizational environment. Seize the value creating opportunities which will be presented by quality speakers from the Netherlands and Belgium.

To be highly beneficial, this discussion platform has some key principles:

• Discussion is a priority
• The atmosphere is informal
• Own problems are explored
• On the bridge between theory and practice

The forum will be spread over five sessions, each with a topical theme in which a guest speakers from the academic / practical world will be invited to carry out the debate. There is much scope for exchange of experience and during each meeting a light dinner provided. Every evening is organized as follows:

• 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.: CxO Forum presentation and discussion
• 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.: Informal dinner at Faculty Club UA
• 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.: CxO Forum presentation and discussion

Thursday 15th of December: ERP and Business Value – dr. Lineke Sneller (Neyenrode Business University / CIO Tele2)
As CIO of the Year 2010, Lineke Sneller has been awarded for her innovative and straightforward approach as a CIO of Tele2. Besides a successful delivery of IT to the business in terms of cost savings, strategic added value and an innovative IT agenda, she is capable to interact with the business and look for new opportunities which eventually results in additional business value. Next to her successful professional career, Ms. Sneller has reflected her experience with the academic world in a PhD and written a book with all basics on ERP systems.

Thursday 16th of February: Next Generation Workplace – Prof. dr. Erik van Heck (MIT / Erasmus University / Rotterdam School of Management)
A Next Generation Workplace implies additional focus on the communication and integration of employees as well as on their well being in terms of flexibility, trust, responsibility, empowerment and education. Erik van Heck was able to grasp the main reasons and benefits from such a new way of collaboration at the Best Workplace in Europe, through a case study at Microsoft NL.

Thursday 29th of March: Contemporary approaches for Value Management in European Organizations – drs. Kim Maes (Antwerp Management School)
As IT will not create business value in itself, IT value management practices are necessary in order to assist business as well as IT so they can reap the projected benefits from IT enabled investments. With case studies in various organizations, Kim Maes will present his exploratory journey and experienced best practices through a cross case analysis. Grab the opportunity to reflect on these novel results and to project them to your organizational environment.

Thursday 19th of April: Legal issues on cloud computing – Prof. dr. Patrick Van Eecke (University of Antwerp / University of London)
Cloud computing has been around for some years now, but with a decline of its novelty the questions on legal issues grow significantly. Aspects such as the data location, data regulation, risk allocation and additional rules in service level agreements are at stake. As a Partner of DLA Piper and being a top 20 IT lawyer (Legal Media Group), Erik Van Eecke is in the perfect position to reflect on this all impacting yet complex subject.

Thursday 24th of May: Business Process Innovation – Prof. dr. ing. Hans Mulder (TU Delft / Antwerp Management School)
Innovation concerns the search for and the discovery, experimentation, development, imitation and adoption of new products, new processes and new organizational set ups. In this session, Hans Mulder will elaborate on diverse and original chances to improve business process thinking.
