About the programme
This executive programme focuses on the development of new business models at a time of massive and disruptive change in the energy market. It has three main parts.
First, it looks at how value propositions are changing and how new value may be created in energy markets. Consumer focus is considered key to survival and success.Second, it addresses the role of energy companies in the changing energy landscape and looks at the innovation and leadership skills needed. Third, it focuses on the financial side of the energy transition: where will the hundreds of billions of euros needed for the transition come from and how can sustainable energy projects be financed.
Modules 1 and 2 are combined in the first week. In the middle of that week we travel from Amsterdam to Berlin by fast train. On the train, workshops will be held on the future of mobility. Module 3 takes place two months later in London, with a site visit to Oxford. In the intervening period you will write a New Energy Essay.

What’s included in the Executive Programme Energy Transition in Business & Leadership
Throughout the programme, you’ll have year-round access to all course materials via our dedicated Online Learning Platform. Upon completion, you’ll receive both a physical and digital certificate of participation, which can easily be added to your LinkedIn profile. Each day includes a well-catered lunch, and every evening offers a group dinner, creating ample opportunities to connect informally with fellow participants and some of the lecturers.
The programme is led by key lecturer and senior industry expert, Bert Stuij. The first module takes place in Amsterdam at the Nyenrode Business University in the heart of the city. The first module is directly followed by the second and starts on the train from Amsterdam to Berlin. During the train journey you will enjoy several lectures on sustainable mobility, followed by two days in Berlin, including a site visit and lectures at the Netherlands Embassy. The third module will take place +/- 6 weeks later, in London. In this time between module 2 and 3, participants write their New Energy Essays. The participants will get that chance to present their essays to the group in London as well as lectures from academics and industry experts. But that is not all, a day trip to Oxford University is also included in the programme, where we hear from the Oxford Institute for Energy Studies and other experts. On the way from London to Oxford a site visit will also be included.
The train journey from Amsterdam to Berlin and the day trip to Oxford are included, but accommodation and further travel arrangements are not included. Our event managers are happy to assist you in finding a suitable hotel. There will always be an event manager present on site to ensure everything runs smoothly and to support you throughout the programme.
