Eligibility requirements

To become a Certified Cost Technician (CCT), you must have at least 4 years of industry-related experience, or 4 years of appropriate college-level/academic education.

Moreover, it was developed to become a Certified Cost Technician (CCT) professional, prior to obtaining the prerequisite of 8 years of relevant experience to become certified as a Cost Professional (CCP).

Certified Cost Technician (CCT) – differences with Certified Cost Professional (CCP)

The AACE International portfolio of certificates includes a Technician (Certified Cost Technician) and a Professional (Certified Cost Professional) level. The initial difference between the two is the minimum years of experience and/or level of education, required to be eligible to take one of both exams. The Certified Cost Technician (CCT) exam is an open book exam that consists of 100 multiple choice questions and takes 3 hours.
