Kickstart School

This 24-hour Upper-Intermediate Dutch Language Course (B1+->B2 - Stepping Stone V) enhances fluency by introducing new themes and revising more complex grammar. Emphasis is placed on expanding vocabulary through activities such as short presentations, and discussing graded readers.

Kickstart School also introduces key cultural aspects to help you feel at home. Interactive group lessons keep you engaged, learning from both the instructor and fellow students. Our online platform, KickstartNet, supports your progress by reinforcing your knowledge.

Introduction

This 24-hour Upper-Intermediate Dutch Language Course (B1+->B2 - Stepping Stone V) develops and perfects communicative competence and accuracy in Dutch. It concentrates on upgrading speaking skills whilst at the same time fine-tuning grammatical structures and nuances of the Dutch language. All four skills are practised along with more demanding functional language, vocabulary building & idiomatic expressions and grammatical accuracy with emphasis on active language use. Graded Readers and relevant writing assignments are also included in the lessons. You will be speaking Dutch from your very first lesson (100% Dutch). The maximum group size is 8 for both online classes and face-to-face sessions. The course runs for a total of 24 hours. The course covers vocabulary, grammar, language functions, and culture. After the lesson students are required to do 2–3 hours of homework to consolidate the learning material. 

Target Group

Our group courses are designed for middle to highly educated professionals who are motivated to combine self-study with guided lessons. Courses are available from beginner (A0) to advanced (C1) levels.

Course Content & Teaching Methods

The course covers real-life communication, integrating grammar and vocabulary through practical exercises. It consists of two main components:

• Teacher-led group lessons (online or in-person)
• E-learning: varied assignments on our online platform

• Understand detailed instructions
• Summarize information in an adequate way and pass on the information with relative ease
• Have conversations with native speakers in such a way that they do not need to slow down
• Write letters of application or formal letters
• Give pro’s and cons in a debate

You can register for your preferred course, and we will contact you to confirm your booking, subject to availability. However, to ensure the course is a good fit for you, we also need to assess your level. Please complete our online level test and schedule a spoken intake on our website.
