This is an advanced professional training program focused on developing in-depth expertise in Lean Six Sigma methodologies. Participants will acquire advanced knowledge and skills to apply Lean principles and Six Sigma tools for complex problem analysis, strategic improvements, and sustainable results in processes.

General description
In our Lean Six Sigma Black Belt training, you will learn all relevant theory about Lean Six Sigma at an internationally recognized level. You will develop the right skills and competencies to independently and sustainably apply the methods and techniques in your own improvement projects. We value variety, so in this Black Belt training, you will have a lot of interaction with your fellow participants and the instructor. You will experience a strong balance between theory and practice through numerous assignments during the class days. This way, you learn from our professional trainers and immediately practice applying the acquired knowledge during the course.

Throughout the program, you will be prepared to independently lead Lean Six Sigma projects. A Black Belt is an expert who fully commits to Lean Six Sigma and actively applies the methodology in practice. As a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt, you will guide Green Belts and improvement projects, and report progress and results to management.

Course structure
This training program consists of a total of 15 training days spread over approximately 4 months. These 15 days are divided into 7 modules of 2 or 3 consecutive days.

During the Lean Six Sigma Black Belt training, we create a learning environment where you can apply and practice what you have learned under the guidance of professional trainers. We alternate strongly between theory and practice, making frequent use of interaction and assignments.

Part of this training involves working with and practicing statistical analyses, for which you will need Excel and MiniTab during the course.

Program
During the Lean Six Sigma Black Belt training, we create a learning environment where you can directly apply and practice what you have learned. Learning block 1 - (2 days)
You will learn the basics and essentials of Lean and Six Sigma. Lean working means Lean Doing (the techniques) and Lean Being (the right mindset)! We will teach you how to effectively initiate the right improvement project.

Learning block 2 - (3 days)
We will teach you how to measure, analyze, and improve processes. You will practice primarily with Lean and change management techniques and apply them directly in a mini-project during the simulation.

Learning block 3  - (2 days)
You will become familiar with the working method of Six Sigma. Using the DMAIC structure, you will learn to improve and optimize the process with data analysis.

Learning block 4 - (2 days)
After a deep dive into statistics and MiniTab, you will learn to conduct an initial analysis of the process. Various project methods and tools will be covered, as well as the competencies you need as a true Black Belt.

Learning block 5 - (2 days)
Measuring is knowing. In this module, you will learn how to set up and execute a reliable measurement. You will also learn how to validate your measurement system so that you can accurately determine your process performance.

Learning block 6  -  (2 days)
From problem to cause to solution. In this module, you will learn how to identify the real causes of the failing process using (applied) statistics. The theory comes to life interactively, enabling you to make the data and statistics work for you!

Learning block 7 - (2 days)
Now that the causes are known, you will learn to develop improvements. This will involve both Lean solutions and statistical experiments and models. You will also learn how to implement and sustain improvements, making continuous learning and improvement second nature!

Certified trainers
Our trainers know the field both from the books and real-world practice. All of our Lean courses are taught by Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belts. Our trainers possess expert-level knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, and relevant change management themes. Additionally, they have the right teaching skills to facilitate experiential learning for the group.

Target audience
The Black Belt training is intended for project leaders and consultants with a (future) leading role in the Lean Six Sigma organization. In this role, you will execute larger Lean Six Sigma improvement projects, guide the involved Green Belts, and serve as a point of contact for management.

This is a higher education level training, for which no specific prior education is required.

Course objectives
After the training, you will be able to independently initiate, execute, and successfully complete larger Lean Six Sigma projects. By utilizing Lean and Six Sigma techniques, you will be able to efficiently and structurally identify, analyze, and improve process problems, resulting in higher quality and productivity, lower costs for the company, and greater customer satisfaction!

After obtaining a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification, participants will be equipped with advanced knowledge and skills that enable them to lead complex process improvement projects within organizations. This certification not only opens doors to high-quality projects within the current organization but also provides excellent career opportunities in various sectors. With a Black Belt certification, professionals can take on leading roles in process improvement and quality management, making them attractive candidates for positions such as senior process improvement consultant, quality director, and operations leader.

Certification value
You will be trained according to the standards of the ASQ® (American Society for Quality) to achieve the internationally recognized certification level of a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt.

Upon completing the course, you will receive a Certificate of Participation.

Theory exam
You can choose to go for the Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certificate by successfully completing the online theory exam. This online exam consists of 100 multiple-choice questions. You pass the exam if you answer at least 70% of the questions correctly. The online exam is conducted at 14 locations throughout the Netherlands and can be taken on any weekday (sometimes also on a Saturday) at a time that suits you best.

When registering for the theory exam, you may participate for free in the exam preparation session. You need to register separately for this on the MKPC website.

Practical certification
If you wish to become a Certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt, you will complete the course with a practical certification. For this, you must successfully complete two improvement projects using the Lean Six Sigma approach. You will present the approach and outcomes to the examination committee. A score of at least 7.0 is required to pass!
