Kaspar Huijsman oprichter van Academy for Investor

Kaspar is een gepassioneerde zelfbelegger en een groot fan van grondig onderzoek naar nieuws en achtergronden. Hij leest en hoort veel en neemt nooit genoegen met halve waarheden.

Kaspar werkt al meer dan 25 jaar in de financiële sector. Hij was mede-oprichter van Alex Beleggersbank en opende in 2006 een filiaal van de bank in het zuiden van Spanje. Dit werd een BeleggersCentrum waar beleggers op hun gemak hun portefeuille konden bespreken onder het genot van een kopje koffie met een van de experts. Alex werd BinckBank, en BinckBank werd in 2019 overgenomen door Saxo Bank. Hierdoor werd Kaspar CEO van SaxoBank Spain en maakte hij deel uit van het internationale managementteam van Saxo Bank.

In 2021 is Kaspar zelfstandig gegaan en richtte hij Hugo Investing op. Hugo is een gelicentieerde en gereguleerde beleggingsonderneming. De Academy for Investors werd in 2022 gelanceerd en is een bekroond online educatieplatform voor beleggen op alle niveaus. Binnenkort wordt de Master in Investing zelfs gecertificeerd door een Nederlandse universiteit.

Als doorgewinterde beleggingsexpert praat hij het liefst de hele dag over de beurs, het liefst direct met beleggers of voor beleggers. Hij treedt regelmatig op als presentator in seminars, als dagvoorzitter of als docent aan de universiteit.

Academy for Investors, Our story

Once upon a time, in the Netherlands in 1999, the company I worked for started the first online broker, Alex. Some years later, we were the market leader and BinckBank took us over. We realised, however, that we needed more than offering the best platform with the most advanced tools and information to make our clients better investors.

Therefore, we founded the Academy together with the University of Maastricht. Having a Chair at this University, our goal was to study the behaviour of our client base. There are bookcases and libraries filled with good books about investing. But, possibly none of them is about the Investor him- or herself.

Our goal

Academy for Investors' goal is to empower all private or professional investors to become better investors. More institutes might claim they have this goal for their clients. However, you need to have personally trained and coached thousands of investors to know how to best explain. We see the mistakes beginners make and the opportunities they miss. We know from experience what makes a good trader and what it takes to become a better investor.

Our combined experience of 60 years working with private investors forms the basis of these courses. The teachers of this course and myself have gained experience working for over 20 years at the industry-leading BinckBank and Saxo Bank. Become a better investor and enjoy the journey!
