What are the 4 Essential Roles? 

1. Inspire Trust: Trust starts with a leader’s own character and competence – the credibility that allows leaders to intentionally build a culture of trust.  

2. Create Vision: Effective leaders create a shared vision and strategy and communicate it so powerfully that others join them on the journey.  

3. Execute Strategy: Leaders must not only think big, but also execute their vision and strategy all the way through to completion, with and through others. 

4. Coach Potential: Effective leaders develop the leadership potential in others and improve performance through consistent feedback and coaching.

Course format  

This is a 2-day workshop at Leerhotel Het Klooster in Amersfoort. In advance, you will fill out a self-assessment.

Over the course of two days, you will find the answers to questions like: 

How can I be a leader others choose to follow? 

Leaders create culture. What they value gets valued. What they reward, punish, tolerate, and reinforce becomes the established norms for their team. Great leaders understand their team culture reflects who they are. They intentionally shape a high-trust culture by modeling credibility and by behaving in ways that inspire trust in those around them. 

How can we make it easier to get the results we want? 

Effective leaders know that enduring success is in the systems—the processes, methods, or procedures we use for achieving results. There are six key systems that need to be aligned in order to consistently achieve results. We call these the Six Rights. When they are aligned correctly, the Six Rights make it easier to get the most important work done. One of the most important systems is the execution system—the core work process. Effective leaders have a process for getting work done with and through others in ways that engage team members and fully utilize all of their potential. 

How do I build leadership in others? 

Effective leaders build a leadership pipeline by intentionally developing their team members. They see their team members as whole people who have a body, mind, heart, and spirit. They use frequent positive feedback to reinforce team values and instructive feedback to course correct quickly. The best leaders are great coaches. They move from telling and fixing, to building capability by using three key coaching skills: listening, questioning, and acknowledging. And they make coaching an essential part of their day-to-day leadership practice by regularly having formal and informal coaching conversations.

Mid-Level and Senior-Level Managers. 

After this course, you will be able to develop yourself as a leader who can master these skills consistently, within a unique framework that focuses on who a leader is, as well as what a leader does.
